-= Thought =- Daylight savings

Ah, the wonders of daylight savings. [insert sarcasm]

Here in Australia, we will be beginning daylight savings tomorrow (Sunday 31st October). All this means to me is that I get an hour less sleep tonight, and it's harder for me to get up on Monday morning. Considering I get up at 5am (and this will be, essentially 4am on Monday), this is going to hurt.

What is the point, honestly, with daylight savings? Queensland doesn't have it, and it hasn't sunken into the ocean, or been taken over by pissed off cows. The only reason I've ever heard is that it's better for farm animals and farmers. Makes them easier to get into the shed or something to milk?

Now, I don't live on a farm, don't need to milk cows or anything like that, so what is the benefit of it to me? Is there any reason, really, why we have to do it? I personally don't think the pain is worth it, and there's always at least one person at work who forgets and comes in an hour late.

Bloody daylight savings.
