2010 - 2085 (present day)

Throughout the majority of the 21st Century, mankind has been devoted to research and discovery. Exploration, a field that seemed to be so important in centuries past, was placed on the back burner in the majority of the civilised world, with funding going more to research and military applications (with some of this used for military research as well). Hence, in the later half of the 21st century, virtual reality took on a whole new meaning with the discovery and introduction of internal computing. This internal computing consisted of small, but powerful processer, interface and power source being placed in the subjects skull, closely above the right ear. The interface was specifically for jacking in to other, external computers, but all other interface for the average user was using wireless networking. These wireless points were placed throughout the world, allowing everyone to be able to access information and resources at any time. It became a utopian time for all societies throughout the world, with war being a fading memory, and information sharing and the thrill of discovery coming more to the forefront of humanity. Hunger was eliminated, and many countries, previously classified as thirld world, took their rightful place among the nations of the world.

The world seemed to be united, and a golden age stretched out before humanity.
